A Cross-Country Analysis of the Determinants of COVID-19 Fatalities

Over the last year world experienced COVID-19 pandemic coupled with unprecedented policy responses. In this paper we examine determinants of infections and fatalities in a cross-country analysis. We find that countries greater income, less dense elderly populations, fewer hospital beds, more freedom fatalities, travel restrictions use hydroxychloroquine reduced deaths. However, little evidence lockdowns though PCR testing resulted recorded infections, it was unassociated fatalities.
